Autumn Poem

Oh you aqua sky,
with black leaves climbing
a silhouette we know…so familiar
the spreading Buckeye’s leaves
the nesting Chestnuts’ impromptu Notan
I am with you, wholehearted
I am looking past the reflections of life
past all the proposals
of what could be
I am here and now
inviting you in
to the vision of this gathering
of leaves on a tree
of trees grouped together
of commonality
of commitment
of community
